Almost dramatically and yet poetically, an imposing thermal spring footbridge leads into the Dala Gorge. The project was realised by the Thermal Springs Guild, a still young association with the aim of preserving the thermal springs in Leukerbad.
With the extension of the section up to the waterfall, people in wheelchairs now also have the opportunity to experience the natural surroundings of the thermal springs and the thundering water with all their senses.
The thermal spring footbridge and path is open from June to October (weather permitting).
The trail leads 600 metres into the gorge, the power of the water within reach, along mossy rock faces to a 35-metre-deep waterfall. The path climbs stairs along the edge of the waterfall to its source, the spring. Perfectly shaped and almost creatively designed, it lies in the Dala Gorge - a resting pool of spiritual power, considering that water in its prehistory sprang from the centre of paradise.
Did you know that in the autumn months the Dala Gorge is illuminated and guided mystical hikes are offered by Leukerbad Tourism?
