In the 11th century, German-speaking groups of people migrated from Leukerbad to Albinen and turned the primeval forest or the Alps into a permanently inhabited cultivated area. Today, the village impresses with its numerous Valais mountain farmhouses and barns, the famous stained glass windows in the village church and a unique view over the Rhone Valley. A trip to one of the thermal baths in Leukerbad also guarantees perfect days of relaxation.


Recharge your batteries with a walk in or around the village, which is justifiably included in the list of "sites of national importance worthy of protection". Winter sports enthusiasts can be transported free of charge to the valley station of the Torrent cable cars in Leukerbad in just 14 minutes by ski bus. If you prefer to come by car, you will always find a parking space.
