La mont\u00e9e traverse les alpages de Torrent, o\u00f9 des vaches, des montons et des ch\u00e8vres paissent en \u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le sentier s\u2019oriente progressivement en direction du flanc ouest en passant par la Rinderhalte. Il n\u2019est pas rare que des sifflements de marmottes accompagnent les marcheurs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 une altitude de pr\u00e8s de 2700 m, les prairies alpines c\u00e8dent peu \u00e0 peu la place \u00e0 un terrain rocheux. Depuis la cr\u00eate qui s\u2019\u00e9tire jusqu\u2019au Balmhorn, \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re cantonale avec les Alpes bernoises, vous jouissez d\u2019une vue magnifique sur la Majingalp et l\u2019impressionnante falaise Montanji, connue pour son abrupte paroi de la Gemmi.<\/p>\n<p>Quelques kilom\u00e8tres plus loin, vous atteignez le sommet du Torrenthorn, souvent appel\u00e9 aussi la \u00abreine du Valais\u00bb.
