Twelve nature park municipalities received the designation of Regional Nature Park of national importance due to their unique and outstanding natural and landscape values. The Pfynwald protected area is not only one of the largest contiguous pine forests in the Alps. It is also home to one of the most important floodplain protection areas in Switzerland and is an amphibian spawning area of national importance. With its uniquely diverse fauna & flora, it is THE biodiversity hotspot of the Pfyn-Finges Regional Nature Park.

Viniculture is of great importance in the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park. Over 80 wine shops invite you to linger and taste the regional products. Most of them are located in the wine village of Salgesch and on the wine island of Varen.

The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park offers its visitors a wide range of different hikes - from easy circular walks to challenging tours, offering something for everyone. Discover and experience the over 450 km long, well-developed network of hiking trails and be amazed yourself!
